Headwater Energy officially formed in 2023 through the merger of Oakhurst Energy and Aspen Creek Power, but our roots go back to 2012 when the founders of both companies first worked together. Over the years, this leadership team held senior roles at leading solar companies, building trust, shared experience, and a common vision along the way.

Headwater brings together Oakhurst’s early-stage strengths with Aspen Creek’s late-stage expertise, spanning development, acquisitions, construction, and financing.
With these capabilities under one roof, Headwater quickly developed in-house Asset Management capabilities to support the long-term ownership and operations of our growing IPP pipeline.
Today, our team continues to build on this foundation, advancing Headwater’s role as a full-service developer and operator — united by a shared vision of delivering a renewable-powered future.

Our team has spent decades delivering reliable renewable energy projects across the U.S. We bring together deep technical expertise, financial insight, and a shared commitment to clean energy.
